The Charismatic Renewal Ministries last Sunday consecrated Pastor John Chilimtsidya as the new bishop for the Eastern Malawi Diocese.

Archbishop Mark Kambalazaza challenged Chilimtsidya to create mechanisms for sustaining Christianity in the lives of people.

Kambalazaza said even Jesus spent His time teaching and training His disciples to develop into vibrant leaders of the Christian faith.

“It’s not about being promoted, but to serve God’s people. God has called you to serve His people,” he said.

Chilimtsidya promised to train the youths into

effective leaders.

“The youths hold the future of the nation, so I will invest timein imparting spiritual and physical skills to them,” he said.

He appealed to other church leaders to work together despite their different denominations.

The church’s board members elected Chilimtsidya who was ordained pastor in 2007. He comes from Kantema Village, Traditional Authority (T/A) Kalumbu in Lilongwe.
