Functured have now conceded 43 goals in two consecutive matches without a reply.

Patricia Kachepa scored a brace while the other goal was scored by Mercy Shaba.

Despite the win, Queens have maintained their fourth position with four points from three games.

They registered a draw against Hungry Lions and lost 10-0 to DD Sunshine.

Their coach Dyton Juma described Saturday’s result as a morale booster.

“It’s always good to register a win. We will encourage the girls to maintain the gear so that we can do better in coming games,” he said.

His counterpart Harold Limula, said they are going through a bad patch.

“We will keep on fighting as we are confident that one day it shall be a turning point,” he said.

Functured Sisters are at the bottom of the table without a point from three games.

Skippers FC and DD Sunshine FC, who were exempted from fixtures after contributed players to Malawi women’s national netball team, are tied at the top with six points.

However, Skippers are on the driving seat on goal difference.

Skippers’ striker Linda Kasenda is leading the Golden Boot race with 16 goals followed by her teammate Love Nyakamela and DD Sunshine Academy’s Gladys Malaitcha with nine goals each.

Fazila Chiyembeze has seven goals while Jessie Yosefe has four goals. Tamanda Madukani, Marian Mnenula, Madina Ngulube, Chisomo Banda and Rhoda Chisale have scored three goals each.
