Chilumba extend lead in Simama League

Chilumba Barracks FC has extended its lead in the Simama Northern Region Football Association (NRFA) Premier League to 11 points.

This follows their 1-0 victory over Livingstonia at Majaliro ground in Chilumba, Karonga on Sunday which took their tally to 62 points from 23 games. They have won 20 games drawn two and lost one.

Matifeyo Nyirenda scored the lone goal of the match.

Chilumba assistant team manager Phillip Jere said their wish to win all their second round games, are on track.

“Our unbeaten record in the second round so far is enough testimony that we can do it,” he said.

Karonga United, who are on second position, collected two points from two games having registered draws against Mchengautuwa (1-1) and Ekwendeni Hammers (2-2) on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

They have 51 points from 22 matches.

Kabwafu FC are now third having won both their weekend games against Ekwendeni Hammers and OP Stars. They have 47 points from 22 games.n
