The faithful of Chingadzi Parish in Thyolo under the Archdiocese of Blantyre of the Catholic Church have expressed gratitude to Blantyre Water Board (BWB) for a donation of three 200-litre plastic drums, which they say will go a long way to ease storage of water at the parish priest’s house.

Chingadzi Parish Council chairperson Petro Namukhonde said on Wednesday the donation has come at the right time.

He said: “The drums will help us to store enough water for use at the newly occupied Father’s house since there is no other source of water at the parish.”

BWB public affairs officer Priscilla Mateyu said her organisation felt duty-bound to assist the parish when it made the request for the same.

Said Mateyu: “Since water is life, we had to assist the parish as per the circumstances. We hope they will soon find a lasting solution to their water situation.”

Chingadzi Parish is at Goliati Trading Centre in Thyolo, which is outside the jurisdiction of BWB.
