League leaders Kamuzu Barracks (KB) face their toughest test as they travel to Mponela to meet Adams FC in Chipiku Central Region Football League (CRFL) on Saturday.

KB extended their lead on Tuesday when they beat Mitundu Medicals 3-0 to take their tally to 50 points, four ahead of Adams who are second with 46 points.

Adams team manager Aisha Bunaya expressed confidence of wining Saturday’s match.

“Our preparations have been normal and we are sure of victory since we are playing at home. The home fans are very loyal and we have no doubt that we’ll carry the day,” said Bunaya in a telephone interview from Mponela.

With strikers like Mude Jeffery who is scoring in almost every game, Bunaya’s confidence might be justified.

Jeffrey is currently the league’s top scorer with 27 goals.

“There is no cause for concern. I do not think Kamuzu Barracks have a defence to contain such strikers. We’ll surely win,” said Bunaya.

However, KB too are not shaken at the prospect of playing away.

“We are going there with a positive mindset knowing that victory is possible. We are fighting for Super League promotion and we’ll not let anyone stand in our way,” said KB coach Joseph Chilapondwa.

In other explosive fixtures, third-placed Msundwe United face Mitundu Medicals at Mitundu.

Bottom-placed Mbavi United face Kungoni Stars at Deaf Mua whereas Dwangwa United host Mchinji Ranks at Chitowe.
