Chiradzulu Police empowers community policing forum

In a quest to improve security within communities in the country, Chiradzulu Police Station on July 18 2015 donated 30 reflector jackets and torches to Mpunga Community Policing Forum in Sub-Traditional Authority Mpunga in the district.

In his remarks, station coordinator for community policing, Kingsley Mvuthe, thanked people of Mpunga area for cooperating with the police to reduce in the area. Said Mvuthe: “As law enforcers, we are always perceived to be tough and unfriendly to people, but we are here to demonstrate that we are here to serve them.” Speaking at the same function, Chiradzulu Police station officer-in-charge Nenani Kandulu encouraged people to report crime to police rather than suffer in silence. He said: “We are happy to hear that rampant crimes in the area have been reduced following the implementation of community policing. A country or society without security cannot develop.” Chiradzulu South member of Parliament (MP) Joseph Mwanamvekha, who is also Minister of Industry and Trade, donated the 30 reflector jackets and torches to the community policing forum through Chiradzulu Police as a way of boosting security in the country.
