Chisamanga gets top coaching badge

Up-and-coming basketball coach, Hope Chisamanga has returned from Switzerland fully equipped after passing with flying colours to earn International Coaching Enrichment Coaching Programme (ICECP) diploma.

Chisamanga, who is also a senior national team point-guard, last week graduated from the American University of Delaware course after making a final project presentation of his study alongside other participants at Luassane, Switzerland.

“I passed with a distinction and I was among the best 10 coaches out of 28,” Chisamanga said on Thursday

Chisamanga enrolled last year for the course which is a collaborative effort among the United States Olympic Committee (USOC), the University of Delaware and the International Olympic Committee.

According to www.teamusa.org, the world-class coaching education programme is offered to National Olympic Committees and consists of lectures, participant presentations, group work and field trips spread over four modules, including an apprenticeship with a US national or college team.
