Chitipa petrol inferno claims five

Two more people have died in the Chitipa petrol fire, bringing the death toll to five. Northern Region Police spokesperson Maurice Chapola on Tuesday confirmed the death of six-year-old Grace Mwanja of Nkhangwa Village and Nerbert Panja of Mwanjalali Village, Traditional Authority (T/A)Mwaulambia in Chitipa. The two, along with two-year-old Ellines Mwanja, suffered severe burns and were in critical condition when they were taken to Chitipa District Hospital on Friday. Meanwhile, police are looking for Adamson Mwanja for selling petrol illegally. Mwanja run away after the fire incident on Friday. Chapola also called on the public to report to police any illegal fuel businesses. He said the police  cannot manage to curb illegal dealings alone, therefore, there is need for the public to help in apprehending suspects.
