Revived Big Bullets FC striker Chiukepo Msowoya has narrowed the gap with Super League joint leading scorers Green Harawa of Silver Strikers and Innocent Bokosi of Red Lions as the battle for the golden boot intensifies.

Msowoya, on a path to redemption after misfiring during spells in South Africa and Mozambique, took his tally to 11 goals when he netted in the People’s Team’s 1-0 win over Epac on Saturday.

He is joined in second position by Civo United’s sensational forward Nelson Kangunje.

The pair are a goal shy of leading scorers Harawa and Bokosi with under seven games to go before the season draws to a close.

Currently on third position with eight goals are Silver Strikers attacker Peter Wadabwa, Bullets’ Jaffalie Chande and Blue Eagles midfielder Schumacher Kuwali.

The golden boot award is one of the respected crowns in the Super League and the winner carts home substantial prize money. n
