Revitalised Big Bullets hitman Chiukepo Msowoya is set to start trials at South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) outfit Bidvest Wits this morning after flying out to Johannesburg yesterday.

The burly forward said before departure yesterday that he is set to give out his all in the quest for a second stint in the PSL, having had a frustrating spell with Orlando Pirates before.

“I worked very hard anticipating such an opportunity and now that it has come my way, I will have to grab it with both hands. But having said that, in the end it will be up to Wits technical panel, otherwise I am ready,” said Chiukepo.

Facilitator of the trials, Martin Sekadi of Mokgotsi Soccer Networks, said Wits coach Gavin Hunt wants to assess him between today and Friday.

“Gavin is eager to have a look at Chiukepo having been impressed with his video clips. I am certain he will crack the nod,” said Sekadi.

Bullets vice-general secretary Kelvin Moyo confirmed releasing the player.

“He has gone there with our blessings and we wish him well. He is our key man now and we would have loved to have him for the Carlsberg Cup games, but we cannot stand in his way on such bright prospects,” said Moyo.

Should Chiukepo be signed, he will join compatriot Gerald Phiri Jnr who joined Wits from Zimbabwean club Caps United recently.
