“We are happy for the achievement, but it is time to do stocktaking of the series to improve the production,” he said.

Tembo said their fan base and feedback from viewers have been growing.

“The journey has been tough, but we moved on. It is not easy to work as a team, but I am happy that the actors have been cooperative and understanding,” he said.

The bilingual series is written by Ashukire Mwakisulu and airs on MBC TV on Saturdays at 6pm.

Mwakisulu described the journey as fascinating and urged government and the corporate world to support the series.

“They mostly focus on sports and other disciplines and ignore films. It is high time they promoted us,” he said.

Poet Yankho Seunda, who plays Wanangwa in Choices, said he has learnt a lot from the cast and promised more in the next series.

Other actors include Vinjeru Kamanga, radio personality Hope Chisanu, Robert Magasa, Mercy Malinga, Mwai Simbota and Juliet Royo.

There was reaction on social media when the group announced the milestone.

“Well done guys. This is a great achievement,” wrote one follower, Manota Andrew Mphande on Facebook.

The 30-minute drama series also features on Africa Magic and Zambezi channels on digital satellite television (DStv) .
