However, the two have been incorporated in the subcommittees following FAM executive committee meeting held at Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre last Saturday.

Chomanika has been incorporated in the finance and administration subcommittee while Mwachande has been incorporated in the audit and compliance subcommittee.

FAM general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda said the association appointed the new subcommittees’ members to help it in running of football in the country.

According to Nyirenda the position are effective from January 9 to December 2019.

He said the two had brilliant ideas in their manifestos; hence, the current FAM leadership thought it wise to incorporate them so that they should freely forward them to the association.

“Time for campaign has ended. We are supposed to work together to develop football in the country. Chomanika and Mwachande exposed some brilliant ideas in their manifestos that we thought it wise to incorporate them in the FAM system,” said Nyirenda.

Chomanika, who is also the owner of Chikwawa United, said he is happy with the role given to him by FAM and promised to do the needful to assist in development of football.

“Of course, I am yet to understand the roles for my appointment. Still more, it is a welcome development and I will do the needful service to my people,” he said.

Mwachande refused to comment on the development, saying he will do that once he receives official communication on his appointment.

Other subcommittees include players welfare, marketing and commercial, legal affairs, competition, technical and youth. n
