Christmas in the air

Excitement is in the air as people thronged banks and shops on Christmas Eve to prepare for the festivities. In Lilongwe, there were long queues of people who wanted to transact business at banks (top).

The situation was also the same at Blantyre’s Chichiri Shopping Centre where people accessing services at some bank agencies waited outside banking halls which could not accommodate them all. They were, however, comforted by Christmas carols played by the Salvation Army Brass Band that mounted next to the main entrance of the mall (below).
