In an interview with Malawi News Agency (Mana), Rev. Katema said the prolonged dry spells the country has experiencing in many parts is as a result of some quarters of life engaging themselves in the ungodly acts, and the nation needs to wake up and repent.

Said Rev. Katema: “As Malawians, we need to tread carefully with the homosexuality issue. This is an abomination in the presence of the Lord.”

Asked whether Malawi could make it without donor support, Katema said it was only through God that Malawi could make it and no destruction would happen to the country.

Meanwhile, Rev. Katema has cautioned other religious leaders who are for homosexuality, saying “they are provoking the anger of God”.
