Over 3000 delegates are expected to convene in Lilongwe from this Wednesday for this year’s long-awaited Churches of Christ annual general conference (AGC).

Chairperson of the organising committee Reverend Ernest Kanjere said the conference will run until August 4.

“The conference will take place at Lingadzi in Lilongwe and that delegates will start arriving on July 31 2013. On Thursday afternoon, we will have an official opening,” said Kanjere.

He indicated that two student-pastors—-Nelson Kanjanga and Paul Jeremiah—-will be ordained.

“During this period, we will also sensitise Christians on non-religious issues such as maternal health and safe motherhood. We realise that apart from preaching the word of God, we also have a role to play in sensitising people on health issues,” said Kanjere.

The organising chairperson disclosed that they have invited Rev. Dr. Chatha Msangambe of Nkhoma Synod of the CCAP to be guest of honour.
