The major objective of the meeting was to give district and constituency governors and representatives from the women and youth to interface and discuss socio-economic needs of the district.

Chindevu observed at the end of the meeting that interaction of governors from different political parties was impossible because politicians lacked knowledge on the idea behind politics, which is to serve the local person on the ground.

He, therefore, described the initiative taken by Nice as good foundation for peaceful elections in the future.

Nsanje Nice district civic education officer (DCEO) Kondwani Malunga, said it remains the aim of his organisation to provide information, knowledge and skills to the citizenry to spur a meaningful engagement with elected leaders and service providers in an effort to ensure transparency and accountability among duty-bearers.

During the meeting, Nsanje South West Constituency Multi-Party Development Committee (MPDC) was elected and is being chaired by George Panyatwa. n
