The rivalry between Moyale Barracks and Civo United resumes on Saturday in a TNM Super League encounter as the two teams face each other for the fourth time in six months at Civo Stadium.

When the two teams met in the first round of the Super League, Civo won 1-0. They later met in two legs of semi-finals of the Standard Bank Knockout Trophy, which ended in 1-1 and 0-0 draws, respectively.

“It seems Civo are our main rivals. Whenever we meet, the competition is high as each team wants to win,” said Moyale coach Nicholas Mhango.

“In the first round, we dropped points unnecessarily and this time we want to catch up and be among the top five or three,” said Mhango.

Moyale are 11th on the log table with 15 points whereas Civo are seventh with 22 points.

Civo assistant coach Dave Chirwa acknowledged the seriousness of the encounter against Moyale.

“It all started in 2009, when they beat us in a Standard Bank semi-final. Since then, the rivalry has increased,” said Chirwa.
