Civo to unveil coach next week

Civo United are expected to name their permanent head coach next week after short-listing some candidates for the position.

Civo general secretary Rashid Ntelela said this on Monday when asked about the progress of the team’s search for Alex Masanjala’s replacement.

Masanjala was fired late last season.

“We were supposed to name the coach last week, but we had to wait for a CAF B Licence Coaching Course which most applicants are attending. We should have the interviews this Saturday and will name the coach by Monday next week,” Ntelela said.

The applicants include interim coach Thom Mkolongo and another from South Africa. Recently, Mkolongo rated his chances of taking up the post at 50-50 percent.

Meanwhile, the Mkolongo-led backroom staff submitted names of 20 players out of 28 likely to stay at Civo.
