Clay time for Malawi’s children

Rains bring with them joy and hope. For these boys in Bangwe’s Mwamadi Village in Malawi’s commercial city, Blantyre, rains have accorded them the opportunity to mould cars and other toys from clay, thanks to the wet conditions that have prevailed over the past couple of weeks.

The lads gather at this spot where they take advantage of the slab for flattening the clay to create hand-made toys in a world where technologically inspired toys are scarce.—Andrew Mtupanyama, Staff Writer
