He said as a peaceful country, Malawi wants aspirants in the May 21 2019 Tripartite Elections to campaign peacefully and seek God’s guidance as they engage the electorate.

Said Maganga: “You are aspiring for political offices of councillor and member of Parliament for Blantyre Kabula, but there is only one winner in each race.

“Follow Jesus because He is the source of peace. Let him be in charge of your campaign. Those who will not make it should accept defeat and speak reconciliation.”

One of the aspirants, Gertrude Nankhumwa (independent) thanked the church for organising the prayers, saying they accorded her a chance to know and interact with her opponents.

Parliamentary candidates who attended the prayers included Miguel Andre Ellias of Malawi Congress Party, Rashid Gaffar of Democratic Progressive Party, Felix Njawala of UTM Party and Samuel Kaphuka (independent).
