A Lilongwe-based cleric, Pastor Esau Banda, has described homosexuality as a sign of moral bankruptcy among those who practise it.
In his sermon aired on Galaxy FM on Tuesday night, Banda denounced gays and lesbians as “immoral and worse than dogs.”
“Since I was born, I have never seen a male dog making love to another male dog. So, what has happened to rational men and women to start developing sexual feelings towards people of the same sexes?” said Banda.
He challenged proponents of homosexuality to consult him for assistance, especially if they have problems proposing love to members of the opposite sex.
Banda warned that God would destroy Malawi as he did with Sodom and Gomorrah should leaders give in to pressure from the West to legalise homosexuality.
Banda said Western countries stopped caring about God because of their money.
“They only care about the wealth they have,” he said.
