Second-placed Cobbe Barracks have scored 21 goals and conceded once in the last three games in their final push for the Peter Mutharika Southern Region Football League (SRFL) Premier Division championship title.

A fortnight ago, Cobbe thrashed Mwanza Eagles 7-1 and continued their awesome scoring record when hammering White Eagles 7-0 courtesy of Isaac Vizyalona’s hat-trick on Saturday, then punished Brave Warriors by a similar margin in Zomba on Sunday with the ex-Nchalo United hitman Vizyalona also netting a treble just like Luke Zairi Muyaba.

The onslaught has Cobbe firmly perched second on the 18-member Premier Division with 78 points with one game to go against Green Hawks at Kamuzu Stadium this coming weekend. Cobbe are three points behind leaders Chikhwawa United who also have a match against Zomba United to wind up the season.

“We want to try our best all the way to the last game and see how the championship race turns. Our bosses have promised us something if we win the remaining games,” the ex-Big Bullets and Flames winger Muyaba explained yesterday.
