Carlsberg Malawi Limited senior brands manager (non-alcoholic beverages), Titha Mbilizi, said this year’s event—dubbed City Takeover—has been extended to amplify edutainment to young people.

She said: “This year’s Coca-Cola Kuphaka Life comes with surprises and innovations to maximise excitement and edutainment among the young generation.

“Our objective still remains to connect with young Malawians who love and appreciate Coca-Cola through sports and music.”

Previously, the initiative targeted students in universities and colleges, but Mbilizi said this time around it is targeting the cities of Blantyre, Lilongwe and Mzuzu to extend the chance for more young people to participate.

“The days will start will social sports and end with a music show by popular local urban musicians such as Tay Grin and Home Grown African [HGA].  There will be prizes for winning teams in the sports category,” she said.

The initiative, which started in February last year, encompasses music, sports, digital media sharing and a number of events that attract Malawians in the 18-25-year bracket.

Carlsberg Malawi Limited targeted 8 000 consumers during last year’s initiative which involved students from 18 colleges and universities that shared experiences about its brands.
