Code Sangala’s new album seems to have been welcomed by the international community with US-based Jamaican artist Fada Wayne collaborating with the artist to record a remix of Want More.

The song is one of the hits in Code’s new album Solo, his first project since partying ways with Kapirintiya.

The album also carries collaboration songs which he did with the Zimbabwe’s former Big Brother Africa housemate Bertha Zakeyo and Crystal Tetey of Ghana.

Bertha features on Ruva Rangu while Tetey is in Linda Madzi.

According to Code, the remix which is currently on YouTube, was recorded at All Acess Studio in Michigan some weeks ago during his visit to the country.

“I spent some time in the US and during my stay, I was introduced to Overton Chiphwanya, through a friend Kondwani Mkandawire who used to be called DJ Energizer. Overton runs a music promotion company called Arise Entertainment and they promote mostly Jamaican artists. They linked me to Fada Wayne,” he said.

Code, who made his name in music with the hits Kwathu ku Ndirande and Bwenzi Langa as a member of Kapirintiya alongside his brother Shadre, added that he took his album to Wayne for sampling and advice and the artist was impressed with the quality in some songs, but liked most Want More.

“He told me Want More can be a great hit if it can be re-recorded as a remix. We started the job right away and many international artists who have listened to it have liked it,” said Code.

This is Code’s first collaboration outside Africa. Solo accommodates other hits which he collaborated with local artists such as Tay Grin, Third Eye and Piksy.
