The Copyright Society of Malawi (Cosoma) says associations that benefit from the Cultural Support Scheme Project need to develop sound financial budgets to convince donors.

Cosoma licensing officer Rosaria Kamanga said this in Liwonde on Monday during a five-year strategic plan review meeting.

He said as Cosoma, they will ensure that all rights holder associations implement their projects in line with strategic plans they developed in 2010.

“The meeting is just a follow-up to what has been achieved so far and to plan for the next three remaining years,” said Kamanga.

The meeting drew members from the Book Publishers Association of Malawi (Bpam), the Journalists Union of Malawi (Juma), the Malawi Writers Union (Mawu), the National Theatre Association of Malawi (Ntam) and the Visual Arts Association of Malawi (Vam), among others.
