CRWFL to award Mutharika League achievers

The Central Region Women Football League (CRWFL) will tomorrow award achievers in the Arthur Peter Mutharika League at Nankhaka ground.

The ceremony will be spiced by a ceremonial game between the league’s champions DD Sunshine Senior and Abramo Queens from 10am.

According to general secretary Shambashe Kadzamira, the league will award four top teams, which are DD Sunshine Senior, DD Sunshine Youth, Abramo Queens and One Goal Queens respectively.

The champions will get K300 000 (about $1 796) and a trophy whereas DD Sunshine Youth will get K150 000 ($898).

League debutants Abramo Queens and One Goal Queens scooped third and fourth positions respectively. They will receive K100 000 (about $600) and K30 000 (about $179) respectively.

In Individual awards, DD Sunshine Snr striker Linda Kasenda will receive the Golden Boot Award with a women football record of 99 goals.

She will receive K20 000 (about $120). The league will also honour player of the tournament.

“We are asking all the teams that participated in the league to come and witness the ceremony,” said Kadzamira who described the season as successful.
