Darts Association of Malawi (DAM) has hailed Royale Chemicals Enterprises Limited for continued sponsorship to domestic darts.

DAM, through its general secretary Joe Zangazanga, commended the company ahead of the K300 000 (about $1 000) Royale Chemicals National Championship on November 17 and 18 in Lilongwe.

“The marriage between DAM and Royale Chemicals dates back to 1994 when the championship was introduced,” said Zangazanga.

“Apart from getting trophies and monetary prices, two teams from the two leagues and three from the hosting league qualify for the championship. This tournament motivates teams to do well in their leagues to participate in the championship,” he said.

Zangazanga observed that it was only Malawi in the Zone VI (southern Africa) that had a national championship.

He described Royale Chemicals Enterprises Limited as a company that is passionate about darts and would like to see the sport to the next level.

Royale senior official Majid Panjwani is former president of DAM.
