DAM shifts Pres Darts national finals

Darts Association of Malawi (DAM) has shifted the Presidential Darts Championships finals from Capital City Motel in Lilongwe to Airborne in Salima.

The dates have also been changed from this weekend to next weekend on June 11 and 12.

According to DAM general secretary Chester Kayange, the changes have been made because Capital City Motel is not available this weekend.

“We have been put in a fix to find an alternative venue for this weekend. This has left us with no choice but to postpone the finals just a week further,” he said.

“On the other hand, that will certainly help in the preparation process especially for travelling teams to put all logistics in place. It is our hope that we shall have maximum participation from all qualified teams.”

Blantyre and Districts Darts League (BDDL) has Blantyre Sports Club (BSC), White Eagles, MPC, SDI, Cobbe Stingers and DCE. Lilongwe and District Darts League (LDDL) has C2K (formerly Capital Glass) and Mafco while Mzuzu and Districts Darts League (MDDL) will usher in Mzuzu Police and Kaning’ina.

Ladies and youth teams will also have an opportunity to contest in their respective categories.

BSC captain Duncan Karim, who is also DAM vice-president, said they are ready to win the crown, which has eluded them for the past two years. n
