Musician Dan Lu, who was expected to headline Ka Jive dancing competition on Saturday, failed to show up, and he rested the blame on communication problems, which he refused to clarify.
“Let’s leave that story. But I will make up for my absence by performing this weekend,” said the Shupi hit-maker.
However, the Ka Jive audience were not starved of good vibes as golden-voiced Nepman serenaded the audience while at the same time attracting the audience to move to towards the stage as he performed Limenya Mtondo and Na Iwe.
The youth dominated audience sang along and moved with the beat as the artist delivered his lyrics.
The Ka Jive show was based on freestyle and with it came with several surprises, including the inclusion of a new group loosely assembled from the audience.
This new group will contest like any other and stands a chance of winning the K1 million grand prize.
The show was not short of tears as Monica, Rockstar Dancing Crew, Morton Chilembo and Supernomics were eliminated from the competition while Zisomo Dancing Crew was saved from eviction.
This week came with an improvement in the quality of displays that were put forward. Although most actors performed in their comfort zones, others showed versatility and creativity by pulling unexpected stunts that won cheers and awe from the audience.
With the elimination of the four acts and the addition of one the competition remains with 13 acts to compete next week. Next week, the contestants are expected to dance to salsa, tango, tap dance and hip-hop.
The competition is produced by Times TV.
