The much awaited album So What? by Malawi’s celebrated artist Dan Lu is expected to be launched in Blantyre in March this year. The album was first launched in Lilongwe on December 21.

Artists such as Flex from Zambia and Rio from South Africa are due to dazzle Blantyre entertainment goers with what Dan Lu calls the best performance ever in this New Year.

The launch will coincide with the release of the DVD, whose shooting project is in progress.

The venue of the launch is being sought by the musician popular for his songs such as Allergic, Alibe Size, It’s Part of Life, among others, which are still enjoying massive air play in radio stations and entertainment places. The album comprises Uhule ndi Mtima, Till the Morning Light, Phunziro, Kuzuna, Am in love, Kusakasaka and the title track So What?

In an interview after performing as guest artist at the Sportsman Bar at Mount Soche, Lu further said the masterpiece talks about life of two people where one is born in a rich family and the other in a poor family. At the show, he was backed by Peter Likhomo and Saul Chembezi.

“The two have different lifestyles, but mostly the question that is being asked is; so what if you come from a rich family? So what if you come from a poor family? Okay, so what if you are in a private school where someone who is poor cannot afford?” he noted.

“Some ladies get married to rich people and others to poor people, but still more the question is so what if one is married to a poor man? This and many more issues are what I am portraying in this new album,” said Lu.

He added that although tapes and CDs are on the market, there is growing demand for his DVD at Muvi TV in Zambia, Tanzania, South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya where he has connections with other musicians.

“What I can confirm also is that as the Blantyre launch draws closer, my music is already enjoying air play in countries such as Nigeria and the whole of the East Africa region,” he said.
