Darts national team trials on Saturday

The race for national team selection starts on Saturday with the Blantyre and Districts Dart League (BDDL) holding trials at Moth Club in Blantyre.

BDDL general secretary Diovannah Surtee on Tuessday said the regional trials will involve male and female players.

“The players to qualify for selection will be six men and four ladies. They will be leaving for the Zone VI Darts Championship to be held at Protea Hotel, Bloemfontein, South Africa on August 28 2012,” said Surtee.

It is expected that other regional leagues will also conduct the trials and contribute players to the national team bound for South Africa.

Malawi has struggled to win again the Zone VI gold they clinched at home in 2001.
