Wezzie Mvula, Fanny Mwale, Elenesio Mhango, Madina Nguluwe, Caro Matyola, Gladys Banda, Mery Simbeye and Orama Massa were on target aginst Kauma FC.

Mhango, Mwale, Nguluwe, Matyola scored again on Sunday joined by Gladys Malaitcha and Chisomo Banda.

The results mean Sunshine top the league with six points courtesy of superior goal difference against rivals Skippers who also have six points.

Skippers beat Hungry Lion 21-1 on Saturday and Chilinde Queens 3-0 on Sunday.

“We need to maintain these kind of results. We missed out on the league last season and we don’t want a repeat. The good thing is that goals are coming from all directions. Defenders, strikers and midfielders are all scoring,” said Chikhosi.

Sunshine will play Hungry Lions and Don Bosco in their next game on Saturday and Chilinde Queens on Sunday.

Skippers patron Charles Mwenda expressed optimism of defending the league.

“Of course it is just the first week, but it’s important to start with a win as it brings confidence in the squad,” said Mwenda.

Linda Kasenda of Skippers is the leading scorer with 13 goals week followed by Sunshine’s Funny Mwale with eight goals and another Sunshine player Elenesio Mhango with seven.
