Zakazaka: Scored Bullets’ opener

At Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre, Big Bullets had to sweat for their 3-1 win over a strong-willed Southern Region Football League (SRFL) side Ndirande Icons who held them to a 1-1 draw in the first half.

Revitalised forward Jimmy Zakazaka drew first blood for the People’s Team in the second minute when he was put through by James Chilapondwa.

But Icons fought gallantly and in the 33rd minute Tarim Muniri levelled the score from a penalty that was awarded after Pilirani Zonda had fouled a dangerously advancing Mphatso Zolimba.

Bullets came into the second-half with renewed purpose and winger Fischer Kondowe scored the second in the 56th minute before Diverson Mlozi closed the score sheet with only two minutes to full time.

Big Bullets coach Elia Kananji admitted in an interview that his team struggled to overcome the minnows.
