Listen to this article

=Dedza Young Soccer have topped the K6 million Chipiku Premier Division first-round with unassailable 40 points from 19 games, the Central Region Football League (CRFL) update indicates.

Young Soccer earned maximum points without kicking a ball after Ntchisi Wanderers shunned Saturday’s replay at a neutral Lilongwe Technical College ground.

The initial game ended four minutes after kick-off as Young Soccer were accused of late coming at Dedza Stadium last month. CRFL chairperson Dini Josaya Banda ordered the game’s cancellation.

On Sunday, Young Soccer then sweated for their 4-0 win over Nambuma United at their backyard, thanks to a double each from Chisomo Gillion and Willard Dickson.

Elsewhere, Hard Knockers had chances of finishing the first-round at the top, but they lost 2-0 to Wimbe United on Saturday then 2-1 to Kasungu Medicals the following day to drop to fifth on 34 points, added the CRFL updates.

On second position are Medicals with 35 points from 19 games. The first-round winds up this Sunday.

Support Battalion and Mchinji Boma Stars are third and fourth on 35 points from 18 games and 19 matches respectively having been counted down on aggregate.
