Dikamawoko hosts post 2Face show at Arts Cafe

Riding on the crest of having opened for international Nigerian Afro-soul musician 2Face Idibia at the 2Face Live Concert Africa One Sadc Tour, Muhanya and Taddja will perform with the full Dikamawoko Band for the first time at Nanzikambe Arts Café in a show dubbed “The 2Face Live Concert Post-Mortem Show”.

“We want to show our improvement as a band from before the concert in comparison to now that we had a chance to perform at this international stage and to watch a compact band such as 2Face’s perform in perfect unison,” said Dikamawoko Arts director, Tawonga Taddja Nkhonjera.

He said they needed a post-mortem show to ride on the 2Face excitement and see the fire in Dikamawoko Band members’ eyes and that it was a due lesson for the young band.

“Our drummer, Stanley, had the chance to talk with 2Face with our band leader Muhanya, and our guitarist Godfrey sought out his opposing counterpart on 2Face’s band.  The word that they kept repeating when we were in our analysis meeting was synergy.  And that comes with time, and years of playing together.  That is what we want to achieve by hosting this post-mortem show,” said Nkhonjera.

Audiences should expect a show from Nthano Zathu and Muhanya and Taddja will stage some of the songs they are currently working on including an already recorded single Mudzasowa Mtengo Wogwira.
