A 25-year-old woman diagnosed with heart failure was recently discharged from Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) to wait for death at home, unless she gets specialised treatment outside the country.
Linda Thuzi was told by doctors at QECH that her case requires surgery either in South Africa or India, according to her jobless husband Bauleni Kambani.

In need of urgent medical help: Thuzi

“We have been asked to look for funds to travel for the medical treatment, but I am jobless and I cannot afford that,” said a worried-looking Kambani when he came to Nation office in Blantyre to have the plight of his wife publicised.
He appealed to well-wishers for help, fearing his wife was dying slowly.
Kambani and his wife live in Undi Village, Traditional Authority Lundu, Blantyre rural.
He said those willing to help may contact him through a relation on 09 93 730 046. n
