“It’s an honour for me to gain ground here and an indication that Malawi has promising talent. I don’t take this for granted and I am set to do more,” he said.

Among other popular artworks that Disi has created and raised his profile in Dubai include portraits and a painting of young man with an eagle.

He recalls the inspiration behind the young man and the eagle painting: “An eagle is a huge symbol for the people of the United Arab Emirates. Towards the end of 2016, a man came to me at the 3D painting artworks studios and asked me to sketch this young man carrying an eagle. It was a challenge for me because I had to create an arm on the portrait with a yellowish glove and take an eagle from a different photo and place it on his gloved finger.”

Disi said that the client believed that he would do the job having seen him creating amazing artworks.

“I did the job and he smiled and said I told you it’s possible. He happily took it home,” he said.

Disi described the young man and the eagle painting as one of his inspiring and challenging artworks in Dubai because he searched the story of the eagle on internet and found interesting results which he likens to his client’s sentiments that he is a unique artist that he choose to do the painting.n
