“The fight [on March 30] is not just an eliminator for WBC title, but I will be fighting for WBC silver world title too,” said Chilemba in a brief e-mail on Wednesday.

The South Africa-based Malawian fighter did not elaborate, but www.Merseygloves.co.ukreports that Bellew also holds the WBC silver title which Chilemba could seize if he wins at Liverpool’s Echo Arena. Bellew’s record is 19-1 (12).

Earlier, it was only known that the winner of the bout meets between WBC champion Chad Dawson and Jean Pascal.

“He believes his partnership with US-based trainer Bubby McGirt could prove a key component on the night as he bids to take Bellew’s WBC silver light heavyweight title and secure a crack at the organisation’s ‘full’ 175lb title,” reads the website.
