For the first time in the history of Big Brother Nigeria, there will be a double premiere.

Fans of the popular reality TV show across Africa will be treated to a launch on both Saturday and Sunday.

“Both shows on July 24 and 25 will air from 8pm on DStv channel 197 and GOtv channel 29 with a simulcast-on Africa Magic Showcase, Africa Magic Urban and Africa Magic Family,” says MultiChoice Malawi managing director Gus Banda.

The launch follows the conclusion of the open call auditions in May for the Season 6 edition.

According to Banda, this year MultiChoice has made some changes to the show.

“For this season, there will be no SMS voting. All voting will be on the Big Brother Naija website as well as on the MyDStv and MyGOtv apps,” he said.

BBNaija Season 6 will run for 10 weeks with multiple prizes as usual.

“It will follow the lives of strangers as they interact and compete with each other to win the grand prize of 90 million naira which is the biggest in reality TV show reward on the continent,” said Banda.

A statement from MultiChoice said all measures for the global pandemic will strictly be followed.

“Given the prevalence of the Covid-19 pandemic, global best practices, precautions and preventive measures will be followed throughout the show,” reads the statement in part.

Big Brother Naija Season 6 will run 24/7 on DStv Premium, Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access packages on channel 198 and on GOtv Max and Plus packages on channel 29.
