Dowa communities urged to be committed

Area Development Committee (ADC) members in Traditional Authorities (T/As) Kayembe and Dzoole in Dowa have been urged to be committed to their work to ensure meaningful development.

Archdiocesan secretary for Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace (CCJP)in Lilongwe Archdiocese, Noel Kondwani Mtonza, made the appeal at the briefing meeting to orient members of the ADC in collaboration with member of Parliament (MP) for Dowa West Constituency  Alexander Kusamba-Dzonzi (Malawi Congress Party-MCP) when they visited the area.

The ADCs discussed development issues such as road networks, boreholes, health clinics and school blocks meant for the area.

“Parliamentarians, Councillors and chiefs are there to facilitate development initiatives in the areas. It is your duty to ensure that people participate actively in various development activities taking place in your area,” said Mtonza.

Kusamba-Dzonzi, said such meetings have improved delivery of development in the district.

The meetings are being held with funding from Danish Church Aid through CCJP Lilongwe Diocese.
