Speaking after handing over the house on Saturday, DPP Blue League national vice-chairperson Benart Meke said the youth sympathised with Rosemary Ngomba’s living condition.

“The woman, 68, was living in a dilapidated tent with her three grandchildren,” he said.

Meke said time has come for youths in the country to support elderly people in different ways, and stop associating them with witchcraft.

He urged the youth to refuse being used by politicians to perpetuate violence as the country nears the May 21 2019 Tripartite Elections.

Ngomba thanked the DPP Blue League for bailing her out of a miserable situation.

“I am grateful for your generosity. I cannot find the best words to express my appreciation. Life was hard,” she said.
