If I were

DPP MP

Listen to this article

If I were a Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) member of Parliament, I would not wait for a change of government to come out in the open and claim that there was no democracy in the party.

If I were a DPP legislator, I would realise that the best thing to do would have been to voice out my concern was when my party was in government; otherwise, I would be viewed as simply a fortune-seeker.

How I wish I were a DPP MP, because I would realise that it is pure opportunism to express my sentiments now when I had the chance to do that the way the likes of Moses Kunkuyu and Jeffrey Mtelemuka did.

I would not claim that I feel liberated now just because government has changed because by so doing, I am creating the impression that I just want to win favours from the new State President Joyce Hilda Mtila Banda.

I would realise that if I were not free to speak out against the previous regime, then I should have quit the party then other than now.

That is, of course, if I were a DPP MP. Unfortunately, I am not!
