The President’s Hotel, organisers of the tour by American multiplatinum band, Dru Hill, have announced the cancellation of the gig which was scheduled for Saturday night at the Malawi Square of the Umodzi Park, home of the hotel.
A press statement from the President’s Hotel says the cancellation stems from misunderstandings between the band and the promoter.
“Disappointingly, Tigere Media, a South African based promoter has cancelled the Dru Hill concert scheduled to take place at Umodzi Park on December 12.
“A dispute between the artist and Tigere Media resulted in the unfortunate cancellation of the concert, ” reads the statement The Nation sourced from the hotel’s sales and marketing manager Temwa Kanjadza.
The statement further reads: “Those who have already purchased tickets through various selling points in Lilongwe, Blantyre and Mzuzu will receive a full refund.”
According to Kanjadza, they will start processing the refunds immediately.
Dru Hill was scheduled to arrive today and the band was billed to hold a press conference later.
