After unveiling M-Net movie channels in October, DStv has announced the launch of two more entertainment channels, Blackbelt TV and True Movies 1 next week.

The channels, to be available on all bouquets, will premiere on next Tuesday.

According to a press statement from MultiChoice, Blackbelt TV (Channel 129) is a 24-hour network airing martial arts fights, series, movies and animations. The channel will feature classic martial arts and kung-fu movies such as Drunken Master, Slippery Snake, Fists of Dragons, Shaolin Fox Conspiracy and Ninja the Protector as well as interviews with the likes of Jack Chan.

On the other hand, True Movies 1 (channel 138) is an addition to its already impressive array of movie channels. It will deliver a mix of remarkable true stories based on real people and actual events round the clock.

“We are pleased to be launching Blackbelt TV and True Movies 1. We are certain that the launch of these two channels will provide subscribers expanded viewing options and bring them greater entertainment variety,” says MultiChoice Africa’s chief executive officer Nico Meyer.

Also launching this month is Mzansi Music and KykNET Musiek. Mzansi Music (Channel 321) is South Africa’s first 24/7 channel offering traditional music, jazz and gospel and historic live concerts  while KykNET Musiek (Channel 146) will feature a variety of original Afrikaans music.

Viewers can also look forward to VH1 Classic (Channel 323 on Premium only) which will replace VH1.
