“It was a great weekend winning away at St Kaduya and Mponela, hence getting six points. It was a great team performance,” said the club’s team manager Dave Mwandira.

Dwangwa are expected to finish the first-round this week against Warm Heart Bullets.

“It is good to finish the first-round as leaders of the table. This will give the boys confidence when the second-round resumes next month,” said Mwandira.

Second-placed Msundwe United dropped points after drawing against Dowa United on Sunday at home.

Fourth-placed Support Battalion beat Kasungu Medicals 3-0 as they seek to catch up with Dwangwa.

“We will overtake them. There are still many games to go and we are confident of displacing Dwangwa,” said Support Battalion assistant coach staff sergeant Manto Lampu.
