He dazzled many people with his golden voice and song choice during the just-ended Malawi sole talent show E-Wallet.

Though he was booted out during the last stages of the show, Goma Nyondo’s music journey continues.

Goma says his first album, a 10-track offering, will be out in June.

“…of course, I have a single Muwatsogolere, released last year,” he said.

The album’s title track is Mlelankhungwa, a dedication to all mothers for the role they play in bringing up children in the community.

“It will be done in Chitumbuka, English, Chiyao and Chichewa,” said the acoustic guitarist.

He said the album is targeting all people; hence, a mixture of songs in terms of content and beats.

“All in all, the type of music to be on this album will be Afro-jazz with a touch of traditional music. This is my approach to reaching out to all people, regardless of age. Music is my career, therefore, I am here to stay.”

The album is being recorded at Mathumela Studios and will be produced by owner, Lulu.

Elegant Resources says it is happy to work with such talent.

“We believe that Goma is the E-Wallet top pick and very gifted. Upon noting that such talent will be wasted without support, we signed him and success awaits him,” said Dawa Loga-Lemberger of Elegant Resources.

Born on September 11 1986, Goma started singing at the age of six.

Any tin he found in the house was used as a drum.

His idols are Zimbabwe’s Oliver Mtukudzi, Habib Koite from Mali and Cameroonian Richard Bona.
