The Malawian talent search showpremieres Saturday at Sunbird Capital in the capital Lilongwe. Akamwile hitmakers Fikisa will entertain patrons at the launch, to be hosted by radio personality Chrissie Tafadzwa Kanjira.

“We have partnered PSI Malawi. Malaria messages will be mentioned and displayed during Sunday eviction shows.  At the same time, PSI will be distributing treated mosquito nets,” said E-Wallet chairperson Felix Njawala.

But PSI creative director Marvin M’bwana said in an interview they were interested in the E-Wallet project, but had yet to conclude the agreement.

“PSI Malawi works with other stakeholders to promote Malaria messages. As such, we have to consult before making any decisions. But we are interested in the project and it is a great initiative,” said M’bwana, who also heads child survival communication activities.

Meanwhile, E-Wallet wannabes will on Friday donate soap, sugar and salt to Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, said Njawala. He said the National Bus Company will transport all the 18 contestants from Blantyre and Mzuzu.

The contest will also benefit an orphanage to be selected by fans.
