Wakhumbachi Kaluwa, winner of E-Wallet 2012 music talent show, is reportedly receiving death threat messages on her phone from unknown people since she was crowned on Saturday January 26.

Her mother Anna confirmed on Thursday that she has read such messages with shock and disbelief.

She, however, said precaution measures with relevant authorities have been taken to handle the situation.

“We are doing something on the matter. Such things happen, but we are looking at security,” she said, but did not specify the action.

While the matter has been reported to police, organisers of E-Wallet have condemned the incident.

And one hate message read: “We all know that you didn’t deserve to win, but something happened, which made you to come up to the top. If at all you were following the Entertainers of the Year, amene wawina amamwalira bcoz pamkakhala such kind of injustices, I ain’t just saying, so shoot am waiting.”

Another person texted her saying: “I will hunt you down and kill you, but before l do that, l will rape you first.”
