Having rediscovered what it takes to fly, confident Blue Eagles host Kamuzu Barracks (KB) at the Nankhaka Stadium Sunday with an eye on the TNM Super League summit.

The Eagles started the season promisingly going seven games unbeaten, but along the way wheels came off after being punished by Mafco at home. Since that defeat early this month, the coach Deklerk Msakakuone side has not won at home.

Yet a win could see their tally to 23 points just like leaders Moyale Barracks before they hosted Mafco yesterday Saturday. KB are placed seventh on 14 points from 10 games.

The Eagles, placed third on 20 points from 10 games, have gradually rediscovered their form on the road with the likes of winger Micium Mhone, Schumaker Kuwali and captain John Banda scoring for fun.

The trio will be expected to repay the faith of the Nankhaka fans, but nothing is guaranteed against tricky KB and their quick-heeled striker Kelvin Hanganda.

In other matches today, Blantyre United captain Greyson Phiri has promised improved performance when facing Azam Tigers at Kalulu Stadium in a meeting of strugglers positioned 10th and bottom respectively.

“We have new coaches [Alex Masanjala and Heston Munthali] and it takes time for players to adapt to a new system, but we believe that with the coming in of experienced players such as Gerald Chimbaka and Innocent Jere we can deliver the goods again,” said Phiri during the week.

United are searching for their second win of the season whereas the Kau Kau have a spring their step following last week’s 1-1 draw against Big Bullets.
