With four matches before they wrap up the season, Eagles are third on the log table, just a point behind the leaders Kamuzu Barracks, a Malawi Defence Force (MDF) sponsored outfit.

They tie at 48 points with second-placed Nyasa Big Bullets, who have also played 26 games.

A victory in this afternoon’s match will see Eagles ascending to the top of the table.

Civo, on the other hand, are just head above water in the relegation battle in their worst season in the club’s recent history.

They have 21 points from 24 matches and on 15th on the log table.

The Civil Servants have to win all their remaining fixtures starting with this afternoon encounter.

Civo last played almost a month ago when they were held by Mzuni at Civo Stadium and coach Charles Manda already complained of inactivity, saying he fears his players will be rusty.

Eagles are coming from unexpected 1-0 loss to Azam Tigers on Sunday that threw their title bid into chaos.

Coach Deklerk Nsakakuona said losing was not an option and that they need to be strong in the remaining games of they are to win the championship.
